The idea for Bar-Ski was literally “stumbled” upon by us. Being seasoned drinkers, we were always coming up with fun and different ways to incorporate both socializing with friends and enjoying our libations. While on a pub crawl in Wisconsin, we came across a “shot-ski” and after several rounds of shots with our friends; we drunkenly vowed (quite loudly) to reproduce one for our own personal drinking pleasure. Little did we know that the vintage water-ski we refurbished would be such a hit with our friends! We decided to make one for the bar we frequented in Door County, WI called J.J.’s. J.J.’s has a specialty shot called “The Bernie” so it was a perfect fit for such a drinking apparatus. The vintage wooden water-ski was lovingly restored by Steve to its original glory and then personalized with J.J.s’ logos and sayings. People were lining up to shoot a “Bernie” with their friends. A dimly lit light-bulb went on in our intoxicated heads. There is probably more pubs, taverns and, heck, individuals who would like this vintage piece of personalized art work hanging above their bar. This is how Bar-Ski came to be….hic! Cheers!
